** SPOILER ALERT for SEASON 1 and 5 of ALONE BELOW **
A while back I was chatting with Sam Larson (winner of Alone season 5 and runner up on season 1), and I sent him a list of questions about his experience on the Alone show. He answered some of my questions in the form of a podcast, which is pretty neat! I’ve been meaning to post this for a while, apologies for the delay. 2020 happened and he hasn’t answered the full set of questions I sent him, but I assure you, his responses to the first few questions are well worth the listen! I’ve embedded the episode but you can listen to the Sam Explores podcast on any podcast app.
For those of you that don’t know – Alone is an amazing survival show on the History channel. Ten contestants are left in the wilderness alone (yes, for real, they film it all themselves) to survive with a limited amount of gear. Whoever survives the longest without “tapping out” wins the prize money. (In Sam’s seasons the prize was $500,000.)
